It was with a great emotion and sadness that we learned of this tragedy that would have caused the death of at least a thousand inhabitants in Mozambique. Information
reaching us describe a very terrifying extent of the damage. In Beira, the second largest city in Mozambique would be 90% destroyed.

In this sorrowful moment and being very much aware of the impact that these human
and material damages will have caused to the economy of Mozambique and more
particularly to the situation of the Mozambican workers, we wish to extend our heartfelt
condolences and those of all African workers to you and to the people of Mozambique.
We wish speedy recovery to the injured.

In solidarity,

Kwasi Adu-Amankwah

General Secretary
