ITUC-Africa actively represented by Comrade Kouglo LAWSON-BODY in the session on "Regional integration and trade union", October 1st, 2012 in Yaoundé, Cameroun.
The 8th Summer University of the FES for trade unionists in Central Africa on the theme "The role of trade unions in the formulation of public policy," was held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 1 to 4 October 2012.
In its mission in support of strengthening the capacity of African trade unions, the ITUC-Africa was represented by Comrade Kouglo LAWSON-BODY, Coordinator of the Economic and Social Policy Program, has actively participated in the Session 1 on the theme "Regional integration and trade unions"
During this session, Comrade Kouglo presented a paper titled "The role of trade unions in the process of regional integration in Africa" and articulated around the following four points:
1. Why African trade unions should be involved in the process of regional integration?
2. Assessing regional integration in Africa
3. Trade union action in support of regional integration: the vision of ITUC-Africa.
4. What actions for consolidating trade union regional integration?
