ITUC-Africa grieves about the passing away on Saturday, April 1 of its Women’s
Committee President, Marieme Ba Konate who was also General Secretary of the
Democratic Union of Senegal Workers (UDTS).
We express our heartfelt condolences to Marieme’s family and the UDTS for this painful loss in her prime of life.
The trade union movement of Senegal and Africa has lost a dedicated, passionate and
tireless fighter for women’s rights who will be difficult to replace.
May Marieme Ba Konate’s gentle soul Rest In Peace.
