The African Regional Organisation of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-Africa) greets you on the occasion of the 41st International Convention of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) that is holding in St. Louis, Missouri.
We share with you the theme for the 41st Convention of “One People, One Community, One Nation, We Are One”
The period of deep economic crisis such as the world is experiencing today, with heavy consequences of widening unemployment, rising inequalities and mass impoverishment, also presents the occasion for intensifying organisation and the mobilization of the workers and our communities. It is time to scale up the organisation of the workers and intensify our struggles against conservative politicians, big capitalist interests and their national and multilateral institutions that seek to preserve the status quo at the expense of workers and their communities.
ITUC-Africa salutes the heroism of the CBTU in defending and advancing the interests of its membership and Black workers over the last four decades and reaches out to the CBTU for us to work together in strengthening organising and in deepening the struggles of all African and Black workers across our various workplaces and communities.
ITUC-Africa wishes the CBTU a successful Convention !
