22th February, 2017

Dear Brother Francis,

This is to acknowledge receipt of the COTU letter on the doctors’ strike in Kenya and to express ITUC-Africa’s solidarity with them and appreciation for COTU’s efforts at resolving the impasse.

We note that following an appeal in court by the doctors, their leaders who had been imprisoned for contempt of court were released with the court requesting the disputing parties to reach a settlement within seven days.

While reaffirming our solidarity with the doctors, we are interested in knowing how far the doctors have reached with your support in arriving at a settlement with Government.over the issues in dispute.

In solidarity,
